Soccer players sweat through a late-afternoon practice on Adam's Field in the Woodbridge district of Detroit, Michigan. The unbounded openness of the green field, the bright-blue frenzy of the cloudy sky, and intense energy of the just-out-of-frame sun evoke a spirit of recreation and play remembered from childhood, but long thereafter sublimated by adult responsibility.
